FoTB Aims

	What are our aims?
	To put it in its most basic terms, our aim is to preserve, conserve and sympathetically restore the Bandstand. This is defined in our Constitutions as: "To preserve for the benefit of the public the historic art deco park bandstand donated in 1939 by local industrialist William Nelson Haden to the town of Trowbridge in Wiltshire." Obviously this "basic" aim encompasses a whole raft of wishes.... We want the Bandstand to be usable (and used) in the 21st century whilst never losing its significance as a building of historic importance, both as a stand alone structure and within the heritage of the town of Trowbridge. To achieve this successfully is a balance between "conservation" and "modernisation". We aim to ensure that none of original art deco features that remain are allowed to be lost.
